The best way to remove gum from your carpet floor mats is to freeze the gum. To freeze the gum out of your carpet grab a few ice cubes from the freezer and place them in a zip loc bag. Make sure you cover the gum and all around the edges. Step 3 soak the gum with oil by blotting it with the cloth.

Place the ice bag directly on the gum in your carpet and wait 5 10 minutes. Similar to the car carpet you can also use a stain remover to finish cleaning the carpet floor mats. Use the hair dryer to heat the gum. Be careful not to overheat the area or it may burn the carpet fibers.

The juice in the wipe will break down the adhesive in the gum but for older gum it will take some time. This will harden the gum so it s easier to remove gum from carpet. Put the bag of ice directly onto the gum stain. As a last resort you can cut out the gum on some carpet.

Use a butter knife or metal spatula to scrape the frozen gum off the carpet. After this time the gum should be frozen enough and you can start breaking it out. Since it may leave a noticeably shorter patch it s best to remove as much gum as you can with other methods before grabbing the scissors. Scrape the remaining gum residue off the carpet floor mats with a butter knife or metal utensil.

Use ice or a frozen bag of food to harden the gum and pull off fragments. Gently lift the gum up off of the carpet fibers with a scraping motion. Pull up along the strand of carpet taking the gum with you. Repeat this process until all of the gum is removed. Wipe the gum off the knife blade each time so that it doesn t get back on the carpet. Let s face it car floor mats are a lifesaver.

Step 4 using a metal spatula or butter knife slowly start to scrape the gum off the carpet.
